Flipkart

Breaking barriers with Flipkart.

How many of you have moved to a new city for work?

Every year millions of Indians move around for their work. Most times, we don’t knowthe language of that city. What works in our favour though, is that we’re good withEnglish.

Can’t understand what a local vendor says? It’s fine, you can still order the samething online by just knowing English.

How often do we think about it the other way around?

How convenient is online shopping for people who don’t know English? Is it just amatter of a few clicks for them too?

Language shouldn’t be a barrier, and in no way a divider, when it comes to the easeand safety of online purchases.

This was the vision Flipkart had in mind when they made their interface vernacularfriendly.

Bridging the language gap isn’t just about adding convenience to the lives of morepeople. It’s also about thousands of Indians having the opportunity to experiencesimple joys in the way so many of us are. It’s about belonging to a world wherelanguage doesn’t dictate what you buy, and how you buy it.

In its simplest sense, it’s about being inclusive.

Inclusion is one of the things Moolya values the most. Regardless of who they are, where they come from, what they speak, how they dress, what they eat, Moolyanshave always been tight-knit.

In celebration of Flipkart’s initiative to be more inclusive, Moolya has penned a shortstory about the power of language. We are proud to be such a close part of Flipkart’sjourney and hope for much more.

Initial Success

The first release happened on 12th December 2019 for collecting the first-party dataSDK. It was a major milestone and a success.

“There was no looking back after the first release. The trust was built and weMoolyans kept our promise of delivering quality on a consistent basis,” added theAssociate Test Manager.

Obtaining Total Understanding

Once the Moolyans got a grasp on the overall technical understanding of the productit became easier for us to perform deep testing and apply the bug preventionmethod.

The Work Behind it

Moolya follows an Agile method with Zeotap. It’s an iterative developmentmethodology wherein the entire project team participates in all the activities. Therequirements evolve as the iterations progress. Since the coding and testing aredone interactively and incrementally during the entire development phase the mainfocus is on the improvement of the quality of the product.

The Outcome

Moolya is honoured to be a part of many project releases with Zeotap, over the lasttwo and half years. One of the current releases focused on the Demo environmentand customer website builder. It was a crucial and a much needed environmentneeded by Zeotap. This environment will now enable the SEs to offer customizeddemos for the Zeotap products.
